Occupational Medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention and treatment of occupational injuries and diseases. An occupational disease is one that is associated with a particular occupation and occurs in the workplace. This includes the prevention, treatment, management and recovery from work related injuries. The mission of SPMC occupational and Environmental Medicine is to provide early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases due to chemical, biological, and physical hazards in the workplace and environment.
